MG Hector Super variant discontinued

MG Motors recently added a new mid-spec Shine variant in the Hector lineup. The SUV was sold in five different variants up until now. MG Motors has discontinued the Super variant of the Hector, which was positioned between the base Style variant and the mid Shine variant.
Also, higher Smart and Sharp variants of the MG Hector diesel have seen a price hike of Rs 15,000. The diesel MG Hector Smart variant now costs Rs 17.95 lakh (ex-showroom). The top-of-the-line Sharp variant of the diesel MG Hector now retails for Rs 19.35 lakh (ex-showroom).
All the other variants continue with the same price as reported by the manufacturer in the month of August. The entry-level model of the MG Hector petrol retails for Rs 13.50 lakh (ex-showroom) and the base diesel variant starts at Rs 14.99 lakh (ex-showroom).
Other than the newly jigged variant lineup and prices, the MG Hector continues with the same mechanicals and feature list.
The petrol variant comes with a 1.5-litre turbo petrol motor mated to a six-speed manual transmission. The buyers looking for an automatic variant have an option to pick between a dual-clutch auto or a CVT. The manual variants also come with a mild-hybrid system as well. The power figure of the petrol variant is rated at 141bhp and 250Nm.
The diesel variant gets a 2.0-litre turbocharged motor that is coupled with a six-speed manual transmission. This engine is good enough for 168bhp and 350Nm. So far there is no official word from MG motors on the launch of Hector diesel with an automatic gearbox.
