MG Motor India has announced a reduction in the price of the Hector SUV in India. Offered in 7 variants, this price revision is applicable across the entire model range. With this update, the MG Hector is now priced between Rs 14.73 lakh and Rs 21.71 lakh (ex-showroom, India), reflecting a reduction of up to Rs 1.29 lakh. The 5-seater SUV from the stable of MG continues to rival other mid-size SUVs, such as the Mahindra XUV700, Kia Seltos, Tata Harrier, Volkswagen Taigun, Hyundai Creta, Toyota Urban Cruiser Hyryder, and the Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara. Style, Shine, Smart, Smart EX, Smart Pro, Sharp Pro, and Savvy Pro are the seven variants that the SUV is available in. Since its debut in 2019, the feature-packed SUV has had impressive sales. Customers have the option of one dual-tone as well as six mono-tone colours. The former has a roof that is Starry Black and Candy White. The mono-tone options include Candy White, Havana Grey, Glaze Red, Aurora Silver, Starry Black, and a brand-new Dune Brown paint scheme. MG Hector: Engine and Gearbox
Underneath the hood, the SUV receives both petrol and diesel engines. The Hector’s 1.5-litre turbo petrol delivers 141bhp and 250Nm of peak torque, while a 2.0-litre diesel unit cranks out 168bhp of maximum power and 350Nm of peak torque. A six-speed transmission is standard, with a CVT gearbox available solely with turbo-petrol engines.
MG Hector: Exterior
Up front, the SUV gets an Argyle-inspired diamond mesh grille, split headlamps, and elegant LED daytime running lights. New are front and rear skid plates. The rear end is defined by an updated bumper and LED taillights. The Hector gets the 'Internet Inside' badge on the tailgate and fender, indicating that the car takes the lead in connected technology. It rides on 18-inch alloy wheels with a stylish five-spoke dual-prong design.
MG Hector: Interior, Features
On the inside, the Hector comes with a new white and black dual-tone theme. At the centre is a 14.0-inch touchscreen, which is the biggest in the segment. Then, there is a fully digital driver's display, voice-controlled ambient lighting, a panoramic sunroof, a start/stop button, a ventilated seat button next to the gear lever, an electronic parking brake switch, and various 360-camera viewing options. More than 50 connected car features form part of the i-Smart connectivity that comes with an embedded M2M SIM. Voice commands can be used to start the SUV, open and close the sunroof, and turn on/off the climate control. Level 2 ADAS is a significant upgrade included in the 2023 Hector. The suite includes adaptive cruise control, lane keep assist, forward collision warning with emergency braking, traffic jam assist, and high-beam assist.

Post price reduction, the MG Hector retails between Rs 14.73 lakh and Rs 21.71 lakh (ex-showroom, India). The Hyundai Creta, the Tata Harrier, the Kia Seltos, the Skoda Kushaq, and the Volkswagen Taigun are its rivals.
