MG Gloster to Become BS6 2.0-Compliant in India Soon
MG India is going to make its flagship model- the Gloster comply with BS6 Phase 2 and RDE emission standards. The new emission rules will implement in India starting the next month.
The new BS6-II emission rules will come into effect in April in India. Before its implementation, several automakers have begun introducing upgraded models of their cars with BS6 Phase 2-compliant engines in the market. The greenhouse gases emitted by cars, two-wheelers, and other bulky vehicles adversely affect our blue planet and its inhabitants. Hence, the central government has ordered to establish the of stricter BS6 Phase 2 rules to lessen this impact. The upcoming rules will help to reduce the dangerous greenhouse gases produced by these vehicles. Renault India, Tata Motors, and Kia have their names on the list of automakers, which have modified their models in accordance with the upcoming emission norms. Reportedly, MG India is preparing to become part of the list by offering the mandatory update to its highly popular model - the Gloster. New MG Gloster: Mechanical Details
Mechanically, the new MG Gloster will have a 2.0-litre diesel engine, capable of offering 213bhp and 480Nm. For transmission, it will use an eight-speed automatic transmission, offering power to all four wheels. Reportedly, the 4x2 variant will no longer be produced by the manufacturer, and only the 4x4 version will be available. According to reports, the updated MG Gloster will be available in six- and seven-seat configurations in two trims, Sharp and Savvy.

Feature-wise, the MG Gloster comes loaded with a panoramic sunroof, wireless charging, ventilated front seats, a 12-way power driver seat with massaging function, and an ADAS safety system. It also has a 12.2-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.

There is no official confirmation of the new Gloster's launch yet. However, market reports indicate that the carmaker will bring the updated Gloster to India in the upcoming weeks.
