MG Motors now offers its Savvy variant of the Gloster with a seven-seat option. The Gloster with its new variant gets the same price tag as its six-seater option. Also, the company has silently increased the price of its flagship SUV.
The Savvy – top-spec – variant of the MG Gloster has been updated with a seven-seater option. The seven-seater Savvy variant has been priced the same as the six-seater Savvy variant at Rs 37.28 lakh (ex-showroom). With the addition of a new variant, the MG Gloster has also seen a price hike. The lowest Super variant continues with its Rs 29.98 lakh (ex-showroom) price while the higher variants get an upward price revision.

There is a Rs 40,000 increase on already existing Sharp, Smart and Savvy variants. Despite the increase in price, the MG Gloster continues to be the same mechanically.
There is a 2.0-litre diesel engine that powers the Gloster, however, the powertrain is offered in two different states of tune. The variants equipped with a rear-wheel-drive layout get a power output of 161bhp and 375Nm of torque. The higher-spec 4x4 models come equipped with a twin-turbocharged setup that bumps up the power to 215bhp and 480Nm of torque. Both the RWD and the 4x4 variant get an eight-speed automatic transmission.
The MG Gloster continues with Level-One autonomous driving tech and the safety features include Lane Departure Warning, Blind Spot Detection, Auto-Park Assist, Forward Collision Warning, Adaptive Cruise Control, and Automatic Emergency Braking.
With the addition of a new Savvy seven-seater variant, the customers can choose to have all the bells and whistles of the top-spec trim with an option to seat seven adding to its practicality.
The key rivals to the MG Gloster are the Ford Endeavour and the Toyota Fortuner. The Mahindra Alturas G4 also positions itself in the same pricing as the MG Gloster.
