The Cyberster sports car is set to make its world debut at the upcoming Goodwood Festival of Speed, according to MG Motor UK. The event is scheduled to take place from July 13 to July 16. Attendees at the festival will be able to have a good look at this two-seater convertible EV when it will be shown on the main MG exhibit. During the festival, the electrically powered roadster will also participate in the hill climb competition. At Goodwood, the British automaker will introduce the Cyberster as well as two other electric performance vehicles. Apart from this, a newly designed and produced prototype with the codename EX4 has been announced for the festival, however, further information will shortly be made public. MG will also reveal a second sporty electric vehicle that will go on sale in 2023 summer.

MG Cyberster: Design and Dimensions
The Cyberster, an electric two-door roadster, made its premiere at Auto Shanghai 2023. It is both the company's first EV sportscar and its first sportscar in many years. It debuts a modern design aesthetic evocative of MG's long history in the sports industry. Innovative additions like the distinctive scissor doors are mounted with their door handles on the accent line that runs from the A-pillar to the back. Furthermore, the Cyberster has split rear diffusers and distinctive arrow-shaped taillights.
The model is expected to be larger than the Mazda MX-5 and the Porsche 718 Boxster, measuring 4,535mm long, 1,913mm wide, and 1,329mm high.
MG Cyberster: Interior
The MG Cyberster's interior, meanwhile, features a steering wheel with a yoke similar to the one in a Tesla as well as many digital displays for infotainment and driving information. The Cyberster will dramatically broaden the brand's product lineup as it gets closer to its centennial in 2024, helping MG maintain its rapid growth trajectory.
MG Cyberster: Powertrain and Platform Details
MG hasn't yet disclosed the final horsepower and performance figures for the Roadster, but we do know that there will be three distinct configurations. Two dual-motor versions will sit above the single-motor entry-level model, which will have a single-motor drivetrain. With a front electric motor producing 200bhp and a rear electric motor producing 330bhp, the flagship Cyberster will be able to produce a total system power output of 530bhp. Weight varies based on specification, with single-motor versions weighing in at 1,850kg and the Cyberster at 1,985kg in its heaviest configuration. A range of 800 kilometre is promised. A single motor with a sub-3.0sec 0-100km/h speed and likely located in the back uses the same efficiency-boosting 'hairpin' wiring technique as the ZS EV.
The Cyberster is intended to be a "cell-to-pack" battery production vehicle. It is constructed on a brand-new chassis based on the 2017 E-Motion coupe concept. In order to boost production efficiency and power density, this does away with the traditional modular structure utilised by contemporary EVs.
Commenting on the occasion, Guy Pigounakis, Commercial Director for MG Motor UK, said, "We're thrilled to make our return to the Festival of Speed with a global debut. The Cyberster symbolizes MG's highly anticipated comeback to sports car production, and we're excited to unveil this high-performance, technologically advanced EV, offering a glimpse into an exhilarating future. We also have two more debuts in store, exemplifying MG's commitment to creating engaging and thrilling electric vehicles."
“We are absolutely delighted that MG Motor UK will be returning to Goodwood this summer and honoured that it has chosen the Festival of Speed to host the global debut for the MG Cyberster. With such rich history between Goodwood and MG and ahead of its centenary in 2024, I’m thrilled MG will be so much part of the Festival this year,” remarked, the Duke of Richmond.
