At the Goodwood Festival of Speed, MG celebrated its 100th anniversary by revealing the Cyber GTS, a new concept car, essentially an all-electric MG Cyberster roadster in a coupe form. According to MG, the concept honours the 1968 MGC GTS Sebring, a racecar that won the 1968 12 Hours of Sebring and became the fastest-finishing MG factory car. In addition to the Cyber GTS Concept's world premiere at the MG booth, a functional prototype will also make a dramatic debut by speeding past this year's MG-themed central sculpture outside Goodwood House and up the renowned Goodwood hill climb.

MG Cyber GTS Concept: Key Details
In terms of design, the long, low front end and the Union Jack-inspired tail lamps at the back with the lightbar element are all linked to the Cyberster production car. Even the design of the bumpers is almost the same. The most significant modification is to the roofline, where the soft top of the Cyberster has been swapped out for a hardtop that resembles a fastback and extends to the vehicle's trailing edge. The details regarding the interior of the vehicle are still under wraps. However, several market reports suggest that it is a 2+2 sportscar, as opposed to the 2-seat Cyberster.
As for the powertrain, the SAIC-owned brand has confirmed that the concept will utilise a rear-wheel-drive setup and an all-electric drivetrain but otherwise has not revealed any technical specifics. It makes sense to assume that the two models will have comparable specs given its close connection to the Cyberster.
The Cyberster's powertrain options include both all-wheel drive (AWD) and rear-wheel drive. The rear-wheel drive version has a top speed of 195km/h, a peak power output of 335bhp, and a 0-100km/h acceleration time of 5 seconds. On the other hand, with a top speed of 201km/h, the all-wheel drive version puts out 503bhp and can accelerate from 0 to 100km/h in 3.2 seconds. In contrast to the AWD, which has a stated range of 444 km, the RWD has a claimed range of 510 km on a full charge.
With this, the electric coupe looks ready to compete with the soon-to-be-launched Porsche 718 Cayman EV, while honouring the iconic MGB/MGC GT models from the 1960s. The Cyber GTS Concept, according to MG, is modelled after the MGC GTS Sebring race car, which finished the 1968 12 Hours of Sebring in a noteworthy 10th place overall (third in the prototype category), the best performance from the factory MG team.

The British manufacturer also revealed the EXE181 prototype alongside the MG Cyber GTS Concept. This incredibly sleek concept vehicle draws inspiration from the 1959 MG EX181 land speed record car with an outstanding aerodynamic coefficient of 0.181cd. On top of that, the concept can sprint from 0 to 100km/h in under 1.9 seconds.
