MG Motor India has finally uncloaked the complete price list for the recently launched Comet EV in India. Last month, MG solely announced the price of the base variant. In our market, the standard model costs Rs 7.98 lakh (ex-showroom). Now, the carmaker has introduced other variants of the EV and their respective prices. After the price revelation of the new variants, the compact electric car ranges between Rs 7.98 lakh and Rs 9.98 lakh. All prices are ex-showroom. There are three different variants of the Comet EV: Pace, Play, and Plush. The top-end Plush model is available at Rs 9.98 lakh (ex-showroom) in India. According to MG, these prices are exclusively for the first 5,000 bookings and will increase later. Bookings for the Comet EV are slated to open on May 15 and deliveries will commence later this month. Let's take a closer look at the variants and complete price structure of the compact EV.

MG Comet: Variants Explained
As mentioned, the MG Comet electric car has three variants: Pace, Play, and Plush. The base Pace version has an ex-showroom pricing of Rs 7.98 lakh in India. On the features front, it gets starlight black interiors, a 7.0-inch digital instrument cluster, and a few more basic and safety features. The mid-spec Play variant, on the other hand, has a grey interior scheme. With the addition of the 10.25-inch touchscreen, the mid-spec Play features a twin-screen dashboard layout, wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, and i-Smart with more than 55 connected car functions.
Price-wise, the mid-spec version costs Rs 9.28 lakh (ex-showroom) in our market. Last but not least, the top-end Plush variant is priced at Rs 9.98 lakh (ex-showroom). It sports space grey interiors. Additionally, a floating twin display with a 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system, a fully digital cluster with a 10.25-inch ingrained LED screen, Auto and Apple CarPlay, a smart-start system, power-adjustable OVRM, reverse parking sensors & camera, and more, are a part of its feature list.

MG Comet: MG e-Shield Ownership Package & More
The new EV comes with an MG e-Shield ownership package that includes repairs and service costs. The EV includes a standard warranty coverage of three years or 1 Lakh kilometre, three labor-free maintenance visits, and three years of roadside aid. Further, the battery pack is covered by an 8-year, 1.2 lakh kilometre warranty. According to MG, customers will have access to more than 80 warranty and service options with costs starting at Rs 5,000.
Additionally, MG is providing an assured buyback program for the Comet electric car in India. Under the buyback program, the customers will get the 60% of the EV's ex-showroom cost if they return the vehicle to the company after three years of purchase. Additionally, MG stated that the Comet EV's charging cost could be as minimal as Rs 519 per 1,000 Kilometre.
