The smallest EV by MG Motor India will debut this month on 19, according to market reports. The India-spec version will be based on the Wuling Air EV, which is already on sale in the Indonesian market. It will be developed on SAIC's Global Small Electric Vehicle (GSEV) platform. Further, the upcoming smallest EV is expected to arrive in our market with a variety of models. The India-bound Comet EV is yet to mark its presence in the country, but its price expectations are out to the public. The new car by MG is expected to cost between Rs 10 lakh and Rs 15 lakh. All prices are ex-showroom. After its launch in India, the compact EV is most likely to lock horns with the Tata Tiago EV and the Citroen eC3.
MG Comet EV: Variants
As mentioned, the upcoming compact EV is likely to get multiple variants. It is highly expected to get a special model aimed at young gamers in our market. This special version will be produced in association with an India-based gamer, Naman Mathur.

MG Comet EV: Powertrain
The electric vehicle is likely to offer two battery choices: 17.3kWh and 26.7kWh in India. The larger 26.7kWh battery will offer a driving range of 300 kilometre, whereas the smaller 17.3kWh battery will provide a driving range of 200 kilometre. The battery, connected to an electric motor, will be capable of delivering a peak torque of 90Nm and a maximum power of 45bhp. In contrast, the larger 26.7kWh with an electric motor will generate 50bhp of power and 110Nm of torque.
MG Comet EV: Exterior
The future EV has a boxy appearance from the outside. It has split headlamps, LED DRLS, LED headlights, and LED turn signals. The EV also sports an LED light bar below the windscreen and a chrome strip that runs the whole width of the car. Under the MG symbol up front, a charging port has been installed and split LED taillights are mounted high on the rear. The 13-inch wheels that the EV will roll on are smaller and more aerodynamic. For the EV, colour options will include White, Pink, Yellow, Blue, and Green.
MG Comet EV: Interior
The all-electric car will have two control sets on each side of a two-spoke steering wheel inside. Additionally, the multipurpose, circular buttons on the wheel are reminiscent of Apple's iPod. They'll presumably control the audio playback and voice commands for the infotainment system. The dashboard also features a dual-screen setup with two 10.25-inch panels. Two horizontal AC vents and rotary air conditioning controls with chrome accents are located directly beneath the screen.
The automaker has not yet made any feature announcements. Industry reports, however, suggest that the brand-new electric car would most likely include features like an electric parking brake, hill-start assistance, keyless entry and ignition, drive modes, Android Auto, Apple CarPlay, and other connected car technology.

MG Comet EV: Price
The smallest EV by the British automaker is expected to retail between Rs 10 lakh and Rs 15 lakh in India. It will be revealed, according to reports, on April 19, followed by a launch within 2-3 months in the country.
