MG Comet EV Interior Teased Ahead of India Launch
A teaser of the MG Comet EV has been revealed ahead of the launch in India. The all-new EV will sit below the ZS EV in the company's EV range. It will compete with the Citroen eC3 and Tata Tiago EV in the Indian market.
The all-new MG Comet EV is creating a buzz ahead of its launch in India as the carmaker gives a sneak peek into the model's interior. In our market, the all-electric vehicle will go on sale shortly. For those unaware, the forthcoming model is a compact electric vehicle based on the Wuling Air EV, available in Indonesia. MG Motor India has not revealed more details about the EV, however, industry speculations indicate that the upcoming all-electric vehicle will reportedly cost between Rs 10 lakh and Rs 15 lakh in our market. All prices are ex-showroom. Coming to the powertrain, the new EV is expected to offer two Wuling Air EV battery options – a 17.3kWh unit and a 26.7kWh. The larger 26.7kWh battery will provide a driving range of 300 kilometre, compared to the smaller 17.3kWh battery's 200-kilometres claimed range. In a recent development, the first teaser offering a glimpse of the EV's interior has been revealed ahead of launch in India. Let's have a glance at the recently revealed interior details of the model.
MG Comet EV: Interior
Inside, the upcoming all-electric vehicle will feature a two-spoke steering wheel with two control sets on each side. The wheel's rounded and multi-purpose buttons mirror Apple's iPod. They will probably regulate the infotainment system's voice commands and audio playback. Further, the dashboard sports a dual-screen arrangement with two 10.25-inch screens. Right beneath the screen are two horizontally positioned AC vents, as well as rotary air conditioning controls with chrome accents. In terms of features, the carmaker has not revealed anything yet. However, industry reports hint that the all-new electric vehicle will likely get an electric parking brake, hill-start assistance, keyless entry and ignition, drive modes, Android Auto, Apple CarPlay, and other connected car technologies.

MG Comet EV: Exterior
Moving to the exterior, the upcoming EV has a boxy appearance. With LED DRLS, LED headlights, and LED turn signals, the all-new vehicle receives a split headlamp arrangement. Additionally, the EV has a chrome strip that spans the width of the vehicle and an LED light bar below the windscreen. At the front, a charging port is added beneath the MG emblem, while at the rear, split LED taillights are set high. The EV will ride on smaller and more aerodynamic 13-inch wheels. There will be White, Pink, Yellow, Blue, and Green colour options available for the EV. There is no confirmation yet, but the carmaker could also offer the vehicle a dual-tone paint option.
MG Comet EV: Powertrain, Price & Rivals
As mentioned, the all-new EV is expected to get 17.3kWh and 26.7kWh battery packs. The battery will be paired with an electric motor, capable of putting out approximately 45bhp and 50bhp of power and 90Nm and 110Nm of peak torque.
