MG Motor India has opened bookings for the Comet EV in India. The compact EV has three variants - Pace, Play, and Plush, and ranges between Rs 7.98 lakh and Rs 9.98 lakh. All prices are ex-showroom. These rates are valid for the first 5,000 pre-orders and will reportedly boost later, according to MG. Aside from this, the carmaker has introduced the MyMG app, which now contains a feature called Track & Trace. Customers can use this tool to check the progress of their car reservations from their mobile. In our market, the deliveries of the new electric offering from MG will commence later this month. MG Comet EV: How to Book?
The new electric vehicle from MG can be booked by paying a token amount of Rs 11,000. Interested buyers can make the pre-order by either visiting the nearest authorised dealership or via the official website. For starters, the price structure of the EV is as follows. It is important to note that these starting prices are applicable only to the first 5,000 bookings.

MG Comet: MG e-Shield Ownership Package & More
The MG Comet EV comes with an ownership package from MG called e-Shield that comprises maintenance and repair costs. It gets three labor-free maintenance visits, standard warranty coverage of three years or one lakh kilometres, and three years of roadside assistance. A further 8-year, 1.2 lakh mileage warranty is offered on the battery pack. Customers will be able to choose from more than 80 warranty and service options, with prices beginning at Rs 5,000, claims MG.
Aside from this, the automaker offers an assured buyback programme in the home market for the Comet. If buyers return their electric vehicles to the manufacturer within three years after purchase, they will receive 60% of the ex-showroom cost of the car under the buyback programme. Furthermore, according to MG, the Comet EV could charge for as little as Rs 519 per 1,000 Kilometre.
MG Comet: Powertrain & Features
MG Comet has a permanent magnet synchronous motor that comes paired with a 17.3kWh lithium-ion battery pack. It produces 41bhp and 110Nm. By using a 3.3kW charger, the battery of the EV can be charged from 0 to 100% in 7 hours. On a full charge, the electric vehicle claims to have a 230 kilometre of driving range.

Features-wise, a wireless Apple CarPlay, and Android Auto connectivity, a 7-inch fully digital instrument console, a 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system, an illuminated MG logo, TPMS, a reverse parking camera, i-Smart connected car technology, OTA updates, 12-inch steel wheels, etc., are included in the vehicle. The feature list, however, varies depending on the variant.
