After giving a sneak peek of the Comet EV Blackstorm, MG has officially announced its pricing in India under the BaaS scheme. Based on the top-spec Exclusive variant, the Comet EV Blackstorm costs Rs 7.80 lakh, with an additional battery rental of Rs 2.5 per kilometre. Bookings are now open with a token amount of Rs 11,000. The new variant is MG’s first EV and fourth vehicle to carry the Blackstorm badge. It stands apart visually from the regular model but shares the same powertrain and features. MG Comet EV Blackstorm Edition: What’s New?
The overall shape stays the same, but the new fiery and eye-catching Starry Black hue is new. This fresh colour is contrasted by bold red accents strategically placed on elements like the Morris Garages badging on the hood, skid plate, bumper, and side cladding.

The silver trim near the headlights and the connected LED light strip enhance the overall appearance. The distinctive design is finished off with black alloy wheels featuring a red star-inspired pattern and a 'Blackstorm' badge on the fender.
MG Comet EV Blackstorm Edition: Interior and Features
The interior of the MG Comet EV Blackstorm retains the familiar white and grey dashboard but introduces a striking contrast with black seats featuring sporty red stitching. Feature-wise, the all-black hatch mirrors the regular model, with dual 10.25-inch screens, a 4-speaker sound system, wireless connectivity, manual AC, and a full suite of safety features including dual airbags, a rear camera, ABS, and ESC.
MG Comet EV Blackstorm Edition: Powertrain
The MG Comet EV Blackstorm retains the same powertrain as the standard Comet EV, featuring a 17.3kWh battery paired with a rear-wheel-drive electric motor. This combination generates 41bhp of maximum power and 110Nm of peak torque, enabling an ARAI-certified range of up to 230 kilometres.

MG offers a unique pricing structure with options for both battery rental and outright purchase for its electrified hatch. The Blackstorm edition starts at Rs 7.80 lakh (ex-showroom) with a Rs 2.5 per kilometre battery rental fee.

The standard Comet EV ranges from Rs 4.99 lakh to Rs 7.66 lakh (ex-showroom) with the same rental arrangement, or from Rs 6.99 lakh to Rs 9.68 lakh (ex-showroom) if you choose to buy the battery.
