The MG Air EV has recently been spotted testing under camouflage in Vadodara, Gujarat. This hints that it could arrive in India anytime soon, probably in the coming months. However, there is no confirmed timeline for the launch of the MG Air EV. The small electric car has been seen testing several times on the Indian roads. Yet, the latest spy shots indicate that the MG Air EV is closer to production-spec model. The small EV is a rebadged version of the Wuling Air EV, which is currently on sale in Indonesia. The car was anticipated to mark its India debut at the 2023 Auto Expo in Delhi, but the British carmaker bailed on putting the electric car on display at the event.

Keeping that aside, since the new MG Air EV is a rebranded version, it will take design cues from the Wuling Air EV. Up front, it will get a full-width lightbar-style DRLs (daytime running lights). Below this, there is a charging point, sporting an MG badge. Moreover, the Air EV will also feature a vertically-stacked dual-barrel headlight unit, short fog lamps, tiny alloys, small taillamps, 12-inch steel wheels with plastic hub caps, among other things. Measuring roughly under 3 metres in length, the Air EV will have a tiny, boxy appearance with a wheelbase of 2,010mm.

As for its interior in the latest spy images, the compact electric car looks identical to the Wuling Air EV. Its dashboard is equipped with a 10.25-inch twin-screen setup with displays for the infotainment and instrumentation. Also, the new car will have slimmer AC vents that are placed below the infotainment unit.

Mechanically speaking, the two-door Air EV will likely come with two battery pack options - 17.3kWh and 26.7kWh, delivering a claimed range of 200 kilometre and 300 kilometre respectively. The car will feature a single electric motor that drives the front wheels. But, the details have not been officially confirmed yet.
