Mercedes-Benz has officially revealed interior shots of the next generation E-Class sedan ahead of its debut at the Detroit Motor Show in January.
The cabin of the new E-Class sports two 12.3 inch screens which merge visually to form a widescreen cockpit. The entry-level model, however, will have the traditional round dials, a 17.8 cm display cluster and a 21.3 cm screen.
The steering wheel integrates touch-sensitive buttons which respond to finger swipes. After selecting the desired function with a swipe, the driver has to press the appropriate touch control button to trigger the action.
In addition to touch control buttons, the driver can use the touchpad on the centre console and COMAND controller and LINGUATRONIC voice control to control the infotainment system.
The E-Class is optionally available with Burmester 3D Surround system that includes 23 speakers, a 400W amplifier in the boot and a 25-litre bass box.
Ambient lighting is also available additionally, offering a host of personalisation options with 64 colour options.
More details of the E-Class, including exterior images and power unit options, are expected to surface in the build up to its debut next month.
