Mercedes has announced that the SL 350 with be replaced with the SL 400, with the new model being fitted with a twin-turbo 3-litre V6 engine producing 333bhp and 480Nm of torque. Even though the engine has a smaller displacement than the outgoing SL350, it still gets an increase of 27bhp and 110Nm over the car it replaces. Like all BlueDIRECT petrol engines, the twin-turbo engine in the new SL 400 also works with a direct injection system with spray-guided fuel combustion for increased fuel efficiency and lower emissions. The performance of the car is also very impressive, and the SL 400 will be able to sprint from 0-100km/h in just 5.2 seconds and reach a top speed of 250km/h. The new SL 400 will be going on sale later this year.
