Mercedes-Benz has inaugurated three new outlets in Chennai today as it expands its network in South India. This will be followed by opening of two further outlets in Calicut tomorrow. Mercedes now boasts of five outlets in Chennai - highest for any luxury car maker - with an exclusive City showroom, a new dealership, and a 45,000 square ft service center joining the fray. All three new outlets have been made in partnership with the VST Group, with cumulative investment exceeding Rs 43 crore. The total spread has been recorded at 85,000 sq ft. Speaking at the occasion, Eberhard Kern, Managing Director & CEO, Mercedes-Benz India commented, “Chennai is a matured automotive market and one of Mercedes-Benz’s key focus markets. We have witnessed a very high growth of luxury cars in general, and Mercedes-Benz cars in particular. As part of our network expansion endeavour, fuelled by our customer centric approach; today we inaugurated three new state-of-art outlets in the city. This benchmark expansion will enable us to reach out to newer customer base in Chennai and also underscore our customer centric approach.” With the establishment of new dealerships at Chennai, Mercedes-Benz now has 78 outlets in 39 cities, the densest for any luxury car brand in India.
