Mercedes-Benz is set to launch the Maybach S600 in India on September 2015. Maybach was revived in 2014 as an ultra-luxury sub-brand under the Mercedes umbrella.
Based on the S-Class, the Mercedes-Maybach S600 gets a longer wheelbase - 200mm, to be precise - and a plethora of features including adjustable seat backs, massaging seats, a chilled rear center armrest, hand-crafted champagne flutes, Burmester 3D audio, among others.
Under the hood, the Maybach S600 houses a 6.0-litre V12 bi-turbo engine that produces 523 bhp and 830 Nm of torque, putting it firmly in AMG territory. Despite the enormous V12 power - which will be channeled through a 7-speed automatic gearbox - Mercedes claims the S600 to be the ‘world’s quietest car’.
The incoming of the Maybach S600 will mark the 12th launch by Mercedes in India this year, with three more cars set to follow soon. Since it will be imported as CBU, expect it to come along with a hefty price tag.
