Mercedes-Maybach, the German luxury car brand, is set to launch its fully electric EQS SUV in India on September 5. Upon launch, it will be the company's most expensive electric vehicle in India. While the technical details are under wraps, we expect it to be launched in a 680 guise, which was unveiled in April at the 2023 Shanghai Auto Show in China.
Overseas, the Mercedes-Maybach EQS 680 features a dual-motor, all-wheel-drive setup that is similar to the one used on the EQS 580 SUV. The two motors are good enough to churn out 649bhp and 950Nm of peak torque, while the claimed range figure stands at 600km with a 107.8kWh battery pack. With the higher-tuned powertrain, the car can sprint from a standstill to 100km/h in just 4.4 seconds, which is 0.2 seconds faster than the EQS 580. It has a claimed top speed of 210km/h.

Along the sides, the SUV receives EQS lettering on the front window, Maybach badging on the D-pillar, and glossy trims on the door handles, pillars, window surrounds, and running boards.
At the rear, the electric vehicle comes with large wheel arches, signature Maybach alloy wheels, an animated LED light strip, and chrome trim elements on the rear apron and tailgate. Additionally, the EQS 680 also gets dual-tone paint scheme options.
