Mercedes-Maybach will launch the all-electric EQS SUV in India tomorrow, i.e., September 5. The premium German carmaker presently has five EVs in its lineup, and by the end of the year, it plans to add another. The flagship e-SUV from Mercedes-Benz will be offered in the top-spec 680 variant. With an expected price tag of close to Rs 4 crore (ex-showroom), the EQS will be the most expensive EV available in India when it launches. Coming to the dimensions, the car measures 5,125mm in length, 2,034mm in width, and 1,721mm in height, with a wheelbase of 3,210mm. Furthermore, it features a boot space of 440 litres. Mercedes-Maybach EQS: Design
The Mercedes-Maybach EQS is unique in style, featuring vertical slats that sit up front in place of the front grille and an exclusive dual-tone paint job. Above this, you can find the Maybach lettering and the three-pointed star displayed prominently. Along with air inlets adorned with the Maybach logo patterns, the front fascia boasts an intelligent HD system with one million pixels per headlight that adjusts itself based on information gathered from the camera, sensors, and navigation system. The optional 21-inch wheels, the Maybach logo on the D-pillars, and the flush door handles dominate the side profile. The LED light includes a cool start-up feature and a 3D helix pattern on the back. There is also a chrome-finished roof spoiler and a rear apron exclusive to the Maybach.
Mercedes-Maybach EQS: Features List
Three high-quality OLED panels that cover the centre console, driver, and passenger sections of the dashboard will be featured in the upcoming Mercedes-Maybach EQS 680. Rear passengers have access to two additional screens located behind the front seats. With real-world imagery captured by the car's front camera, the MBUX system also shows augmented reality navigation. The model has a 780-watt sound output using 15 high-quality speakers and 8 exciters. The sound system supports Dolby Atmos' 4D surround sound technology for the most immersive experiences. All this comes with a digital equalisation menu that allows you to tailor the sound to your preferences.
The vehicle has 11 airbags for overall protection, including frontal airbags for rear seat occupants. According to Mercedes, these types of airbags are being launched for the first time. They are intended to minimise stress on the head and neck in the event of an impact. Other features include active ambient lighting, traction control, Nappa leather seats, 360-degree cameras, EBD, rear infotainment controls, powered curtains, and ADAS. On top of that, there are five drive modes: Eco, Sport, Offroad, Individual, and Maybach.

Mercedes-Maybach EQS: Mechanical Details
With a 122kWh battery pack installed, the EQS has a WLTP-certified range of 611 km. An impressive 658bhp is produced overall, with a peak torque of 950Nm. The EQS is claimed to go from 0 to 100km/h in 4.4 seconds. It houses two permanent synchronous motors on each axle, which makes it a 4x4 model. Additionally, the EQS 680's rear-wheel steering can tilt from 2.5 to 10 degrees depending on the speed. A height-adjustable AIRMATIC suspension system is also included with the Maybach EQS 680. With its 200kW DC fast charging capability, the EQS 680 can achieve a 300km range in just 20 minutes.
