Mercedes-Benz India has commenced bookings for the AMG G 63 and Maybach GLS 600 in the domestic market. However, for the first week, bookings for the top-end luxury vehicles are open exclusively for existing Mercedes-Benz customers. Following the first week, the high-end models will be offered to new customers as well. India has received priority allocations for these two models due to its strategic importance as an emerging market and a growing preference for purchasing top-end luxury vehicles. The waiting period, according to the carmaker, has been reduced significantly. The AMG G 63 has a waiting period of up to 16 months. While the waiting period for the Maybach GLS 600 has been reduced to 8 months for the single-colour version and 8 – 10 months for the dual-tone colour version.

The AMG G 63 and Maybach GLS 600 are available in India as Completely Built-Up (CBU) models. They are part of the TEV (Top-End Vehicle) segment and registered a 69 per cent YoY growth in CY 2022. ‘Top-End vehicle is the core of Mercedes-Benz’s strategy of driving desire, and the segment remains a key focus area with a double-digit growth forecast. Our top-end vehicles have received an overwhelming response, and securing this limited additional production for India firmly underlines the strategic significance of the Indian market for Mercedes-Benz,’ stated Santosh Iyer, Managing Director & CEO, Mercedes-Benz India.
Mr Iyer further said, ‘We will continue new model introduction in this segment from Mercedes-Benz’s global portfolio, reaffirming the strong potential of the segment buoyed by growing aspirations and desire of the customers for owning such top-end vehicles.’
