Mercedes-Benz will introduce the new Maybach GLS 600 SUV and AMG S 63 4MATIC E Performance sedan in India tomorrow, May 22. Both versions will arrive in India via CBU, with an estimated price tag of more than Rs 3 crore. The upcoming GLS 600 SUV will get a facelift, while the AMG S 63 will return in a new avatar. Starting with the Mercedes-Maybach GLS 600, the facelifted SUV will feature a bigger grille with chrome slats, modified front bumpers, redesigned LED headlamps and taillights, and 22-inch alloy wheels. Its interior will predominately stay the same except for a few modifications like a restyled steering wheel, a 27-speaker Burmester sound system, ambient lighting, a dual-screen display, multimedia screens behind the seats, and Manufaktur leather upholstery. Let's take a look at other details.

On a mechanical front, the revised SUV will retain the twin-turbocharged 4.0-litre V8 petrol engine (557bhp and 730Nm) and a 48V starter-generator (22bhp and 250Nm). A nine-speed transmission and an all-wheel-drive system distribute power to all four wheels.
Coming to the S 63 E Performance, the sedan looks nothing like the standard S-Class and is unmistakably AMG, with performance-specific design elements on the outside. The cabin has an abundance of creature comforts, including ambient lighting, a 12.8-inch MBUX infotainment system with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, a 12.3-inch digital driver display, and four-zone climate control.
The 4.0-litre twin-turbo V8 petrol engine found in the GLS 600 will power the AMG S 63 E Performance sports car. The former, however, will be paired with a plug-in hybrid system that includes a 13.1kWh lithium-ion battery and an asynchronous electric motor positioned on the rear axle. This combination will make the car the most powerful S-Class to date, with a total output of roughly 802bhp and 1,430Nm.
