Mercedes Benz India has now launched the GLS 400 4MATIC for an ex-showroom, Delhi price of Rs. 82.9 lakh.
The Mercedes-Benz GLS has now been launched in India in the 400 4MATIC variant. The GLS 400 has a 2,996cc, V6 petrol engine which develops 333hp and 480Nm of torque. The engine comes mated to Mercedes 9G-Tronic 9-speed automatic gearbox and has atop speed of 240km/h. The driver can also select from five different driving modes – ‘Comfort’, ‘Sport’, ‘Slippery’, ‘Individual’ and ‘Off-road’ from the DYNAMIC SELECT feature which adapts the engine, transmission steering and suspension characteristics of the vehicle accordingly.
The SUV will be brought in as a CBU initially, but local production of the GLS 400 will commence by the end of the year. The GLS 400 is the 8th product Mercedes-Benz has launched in India this year after India become one of the top 10 markets for the GLS SUV globally.
Mercedes-Benz will offer the GLS 400 in two exterior colour options - Polar White and Obsidian Black. The luxury SUV will also feature a Harman Kardon surround sound system, COMMAND Online and Apple CarPlay as standard.
The Mercedes-Benz GLS was launched earlier this year with a 3.0-litre, V6 turbo diesel engine that generates 255bhp of max power and 620Nm of peak torque that’s is priced at Rs. 80.4 lakh ex-showroom. The launch of the GLS 400 broadens the market for the SUV in India.
