Mercedes-Benz is set to launch the EQA SUV in India on July 8, 2024, as a part of its strategy to expand the EV lineup in the country. In comparison to its internal combustion counterpart, the EQA has a distinctive front and rear profile with features like streamlined headlamps, a closed-off grille with numerous tiny tri-pointed stars, modified bumpers, aero-specific alloys, and an integrated LED taillight layout. It is expected to feature a Burmester sound system with Dolby Atmos, a digital driver display, a touch-capacitive three-spoke steering wheel, and a 10.25-inch touchscreen running the most recent OS. Notably, the soon-to-be-released SUV will be the automaker's fourth electric vehicle in India, following the EQB, the EQE, and the EQS. Let's take a closer look at the upcoming model's other specs.

Mercedes-Benz EQA: Powertrain
The SUV is offered in four different variants in international markets: the EQA 250, EQA 250+, EQA 300 4Matic, and EQA 350 4Matic. The first two produce the same maximum power of 188bhp and peak torque of 385Nm. The others, on the other hand, generate 225bhp/390Nm (EQA 350) and 288bhp/520Nm (EQA 350), respectively. In terms of battery, the EQA 250+ is equipped with a bigger 70.5kWh unit, while the EQA 250, 300, and 350 are furnished with a 66.5kWh battery pack. Depending on the version, the EQA offers a range of up to 560 kilometres (WLTP). It's worth noting that the company hasn't yet revealed which variant of the EQA would be sold in India.
Mercedes-Benz EQA: Features
The higher-spec variants come equipped with features like dual-zone climate control, powered front seats, a panoramic sunroof, 64-colour ambient lighting, and Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. The vehicle gets electronic stability control, multiple airbags, front and rear parking sensors, and ADAS for safety.

Mercedes-Benz EQA: Price and Rivals
The upcoming electric SUV will sit below the EQB (Rs 77.75 lakh ex-showroom) in the automaker's Indian lineup. As an entry-level SUV, it could cost around Rs 60 lakh (ex-showroom). In terms of market competition, the EQA will lock horns with the BMW iX1, the Volvo XC40 Recharge, and the C40 Recharge in India.
