To celebrate 20 years of production of the E-Class in India, Mercedes-Benz has launched the Edition E of the E-Class.
With 32,000 units sold in the Indian market since its introduction, the E-Class has become the best selling luxury car in the country. To celebrate the achievement of 20 years of production of the sedan on Indian soil, Mercedes-Benz has launched the Edition E for a starting price of Rs. 48.6 lakh (ex-showroom Pune).
The Edition E has been launched with 3 engine options, the E200, the E250 CDI and the E350 CDI. The CDI diesel options are priced at Rs. 50.76 lakh and Rs. 60.61 lakh. The E200 will have a 2.0-litre, 4-cylinder engine that produces 184bhp and 300 Nm of torque from the petrol powered unit. The E250 CDI 204bhp from a 2.2-litre, 4-cylinder diesel engine and the E350 CDI will feature a 3.0-litre, 265bhp, V6 diesel engine.
The Edition E gets an ‘Edition E’ badge on the exterior with an illuminated Mercedes 3 pointed start logo, black hub caps, new design fibre topic tail lamps, and an electronic panoramic sunroof.
The passengers and driver inside can also enjoy a 20 inch infotainment display screen with MB maps from SD card navigation system, sporty brake pedals, automatic climate control memory seats with 3 settings and active park assist with rear view camera in addition to 8 airbags with NECK-PRO head restraint system, adaptive brake lights and intelligent LED light system integrated in the headlamps.
The Edition E is also comes with Active Parking Assist with 360 degree camera, Harmon Kardon 14 speaker surround sound system and rear seat entrainment system in only the E350 CDI variant.
Also to commemorate the milestone, Mercedes-Benz India has also launched the “Wish Upon A Star” campaign where Mercedes is calling upon anyone to make a wish around the E Class at any one of their dealerships and the most heartfelt, unique and creative one might just find itself fulfilled by Mercedes.
