Easily one of the most practical Mercedes-Benz cars on sale, the E-Class All-Terrain is priced at Rs 75 lakh
Just last week Mercedes-Benz brought in the new C-Class to Indian shores. And now, they have brought in the new E-Class All-Terrain. Priced at Rs 75 lakh (ex-showroom) the E-Class All-Terrain will be available in just one variant. This is the first time Mercedes has brought in an estate to our market.
Unlike the E-Class sedan on sale in India, the All-Terrain is based on the shorter wheelbase variant. With this launch, the Stuttgart-based carmaker debuts the BSVI compliant 2.0-litre diesel motor. This, 192bhp 400Nm motor will be the only engine the All-Terrain will be offered in. Like all the current-gen Mercedes offerings, this one too will come mated to a 9-speed automatic transmission. All the power that the estate makes is sent to all four wheels making the car surprisingly agile for its proportions.
On the inside, the E-Class All-Terrain looks typically Mercedes – if you have seen any of the new-generation Mercedes cars, the All-Terrain will feel like a familiar office. The features list isn’t as elaborate as the E-Class sedan, but it does tick a majority of the features. The E-Class All-Terrain is 4,947mm long and has a wheelbase of 2,939mm – which is 158mm shorter than its sedan sibling. The E-Class All-Terrain scores a lot of brownie points thanks to its 640 litre boot.
There aren’t many luxury estates on sale in India. The E-Class All-Terrain will only face competition from the Volvo V90 Cross Country. We have already driven both these cars individually, follow the links for detailed reviews.
