After being previewed on a few occasions, Mercedes-Benz has now officially taken the wraps off its GLC Coupe Concept, a day ahead of the Shanghai Motor Show. The new GLC Coupe Concept seems to be nearly production ready in its current guise and it will compete directly against the BMW X4 which will hit production sometime next year.
The concept is just under 5 metres in length and looks much like a smaller version of the GLE Coupe. The front section gets a short, crisp overhang with upright radiator grille and twin-blade louvre. The car's sporty character is defined by the powerdomes on the bonnet, the sweeping lines of the A-wing below the radiator grille, the large side air intakes and the visually dominant underbody protection, and of course the large 21-inch wheels. The rear-end gets wife and strong shoulder with two dual-exhausts under the A-wings and also LED tail lights.
The GLC Coupe concept gets a powerful V6 bi-turbo 3.0-liter engine capable of producing 362bhp and 520Nm of torque. The motor is mated to a nine-speed automatic transmission that transmits power to a 4MATIC all-wheel drive system.
