After being previewed on a few occasions, Mercedes-Benz has now officially taken the wraps off its GLC Coupe Concept, a day ahead of the Shanghai Motor Show. The new GLC Coupe Concept seems to be nearly production-ready in its current guise and it will compete directly against the BMW X4 which will hit production sometime next year.
The concept is just under 5 metres in length and looks much like a smaller version of the GLE Coupe. The front section gets a short, crisp overhang with an upright radiator grille and twin-blade louvre. The power domes on the bonnet define the car's sporty character, the sweeping lines of the A-wing below the radiator grille, the large side air intakes and the visually dominant underbody protection, and of course the large 21-inch wheels. The rear end gets two dual exhausts under the A-wings and also LED tail lights.
The GLC Coupe concept gets a powerful V6 bi-turbo 3.0-liter engine capable of producing 362bhp and 520Nm of torque. The motor is mated to a nine-speed automatic transmission that transmits power to a 4MATIC all-wheel drive system.
