Mercedes-Benz has launched the CLE Cabriolet and the GLC 43 4Matic coupe-SUV in India, both priced at Rs 1.10 Crore (ex-showroom). The former is the German brand's third convertible in the market following the E 53 Cabriolet and the SL 55 Roadster. The latter, on the other hand, has returned to our shores in a new avatar after a nearly two-year hiatus. Both models are CBUs and a part of Mercedes-Benz's planned car launches for India. Regarding market rivalry, the GLC 43 4Matic competes with the BMW X3 M40i, while the CLE Cabriolet locks horns with the BMW Z4 M40i. Read on to know the precise specifications of these two Mercedes-Benz marvels.
Mercedes-Benz CLE Cabriolet
The CLE Cabriolet is built on the brand's Modular Rear Architecture (MRA) platform that also underpins the existing C-Class and the upcoming new-gen E-Class. It has a big shark-nose grille, an extended bonnet, and an electrically folding roof, similar to the outgoing departing E-Class. However, the car's LED daytime running lights are its own. Inside, the CLE Cabriolet mimics the existing C-Class, with features like an 11.9-inch portrait-style infotainment system, a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster, and a 2+2 seating layout.

The CLE 450 4Matic's 3.0-litre, six-cylinder petrol engine produces 374bhp. A CLE 200d with a 2.0-litre diesel engine producing 194bhp is also available. In addition, the car gets an AMG model with a maximum power output of 443bhp. All models feature a 48V mild hybrid system that adds 22bhp and 200Nm via an electric motor positioned on the 9-speed torque converter unit. In India, the German carmaker has introduced the CLE Cabriolet 300 version with power and torque figures of 254bhp and 400Nm, respectively. The CLE Cabriolet, according to the company, can go from 0 to 100km/h in 6.6 seconds and attain a maximum speed of 250km/h.
Mercedes-AMG GLC 43 Coupe SUV
The new GLC 43 coupe-SUV comes with a 2.0-litre, four-cylinder turbo-petrol engine with 48V mild-hybrid technology. The engine is paired with a 9-speed automatic transmission that transmits power to all four wheels.
