Mercedes-Benz has released pictures and details of the face-lifted 2017 model year CLA Class
Mercedes-Benz has officially revealed a face-lifted version of the 2017 model year CLA Class compact luxury sedan ahead of its physical debut at the 2016 New York Motor Show debut on the 23rd of March. The 2017 Mercedes-Benz CLA Class gets an exterior make over in the form of new front and rear bumpers as well as new light alloy wheel designs.
The redesigned front bumper gets a central air dam that runs across the entire front section with silver, black or chrome strip running across the bottom. The rear bumper too gets a wide rear air diffuser finished in black with a panel incorporating a trim strip in chrome or black (Night Package) between the tail pipes. The tail pipes are now incorporated inside the bumper itself to give the car a wider look.
Completing the exterior revamp are two new light-alloy wheels including an 18 inch AMG ten spoke unit finished in titanium grey or gloss black while the other one is a 19 inch cross spoke unit finished in either matt black or titanium grey.
The exterior makeover has also improved aerodynamics for the car by reducing drag coefficient.
The AMG model gets a similar makeover with a new bumper incorporating a new A-wing design with front splitter, new rear spoiler and a new rear diffuser. An AMG aerodynamic package is also on offer as an optional extra. Adding to optional equipment for the car is also an AMG DINAMICA Interior package.
The AMG model is now also more powerful with 375bhp on tap and 474Nm of peak torque.
Inside the 2017 CLA Class are new seat covers, trim parts, instrument cluster and chrome plated switchgear as well as trim inserts. A host of new interior trim options and upholstery are also available.
The car gets low-beam LED projector head lamps for low beam while the high beam uses LED reflection technology. Optional LED high performance headlamps are also available with a color temperature that is closer to that of daylight than traditional xenon head lamps. The new optional LED high performance lamps are combined with automatic intensity control tail lamps that are designed not to dazzle drivers behind by controlling brightness of the tail lamps in three stages – Day / Night-time driving / Night-time stationary.
Mercedes has also offering the updated CLA Class with Hands Free Access option that allows users to open the rear boot lid / tail gate without physical contact or using the key fob, by waving a foot under the rear bumper while carry groceries, shopping, etc.
