The Mercedes-Benz AMG SL is all set to make its long-awaited return to India after a 12-year absence. The German carmaker will roll out the brand-new AMG SL 55 4Matic+ Roadster in our home market tomorrow. The classic Mercedes-Benz SL, which is presently in its seventh generation, will be imported as a CBU and sold in the country as the SL55 roadster, much like the models before it. The brand's SL has long been an iconic vehicle in India. For context, the classic 190SL from the 1950s served as the forerunner of the current Mercedes-Benz SL-Class, which is the company's flagship two-door roadster sold worldwide. Only the fifth version of the Mercedes-Benz SL, which first went on sale in 2012, was made available in India. Meanwhile, the sixth-generation SL was not offered in our market. So, with the launch of the awaited Roadster scheduled for tomorrow, let's take a look at what we can expect from the firm's latest offering.

The new SL not only pays homage to previous generations of the SL with its fabric roof and the 2+2 seating configuration but also features the latest advancements in automobile manufacturing.
The SL55 AMG will be equipped with the same features as other Mercedes models, including an all-digital instrument panel and an interior made of carbon fibre in accordance with AMG specifications. Then there's the 11.9-inch MBUX vertical touchscreen infotainment system, with a head-up display powered by augmented reality and features particular to AMG vehicles. Other features of the car include a multi-function steering wheel, automatic climate control, anti-lock braking system, and passenger & driver airbags.

The synergy between the two models is expected to produce outstanding performance and driving dynamics.
