Mercedes-Benz launches A-Class & B-Class Night Editions with new features and exterior updates. Only 100 units each are available for sale in the country.

2017 may only have just begun but, Mercedes-Benz India is quickly up to work as it’s has already kick started its product launch spree. The German luxury car maker has launched two new limited edition variants of the A-Class and B-Class models in the country. Billed as the ‘Night Edition’, the newly launched variants are priced between Rs 27.31 lakh and Rs 28.32 lakh (A-Class), and Rs 29.34 lakh and Rs 30.35 lakh (B-Class).

Most of the changes in the A-Class & B-Class Night Edition variants are cosmetic. This means both come with black ORVM housing, new design 5-spoke 17-inch alloy wheels with black hub caps, a diamond radiator grille with high gloss black treatment and chrome insert, along with more high-gloss black treatment on the front bumper and rear bumper. And, of course, you also get Night Edition badges.

Inside, the Night Edition variants come with a new leather wrapped steering wheel featuring a 3-spoke design with 12 function buttons as well as leather wrapped gear lever. Then there are sport seats with contrasting top stitching, seat cushion length adjustment and a tube-look instrument cluster with silver-coloured round dials in chequered-flag look and red needles. Most importantly, though, the cabin now comes with a bigger 8-inch infotainment screen that has Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity options.

Powertrain options in both new variants are unchanged from the regular models. The petrol versions of the cars are powered by a 1.6-litre engine that develops 121bhp and 200Nm of torque, while the diesel models come fitted with a 2.0-litre engine churning out 134bhp and 300Nm of torque. Both the powertrains come paired with a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic gearbox.

Commenting on the occasion, Roland Folger, MD & CEO, Mercedes-Benz India, said, “The trendy and fashionable A-Class and B-Class ‘Night Edition’ are a synthesis of youthful design that emulates modern luxury without compromising on performance. We believe our New Generation Cars play a key role in attracting dynamic, affluent and young Indians to the brand and this success story will be further amplified by the launch of the ‘Night Edition’ variants. With the new A-Class and B-Class ‘Night Edition’, we have just raised the bar even higher for this popular segment. We are confident that these stunning compact luxury vehicles will remain the first choice for those customers, who desire sporty design, topnotch interior coupled with class leading performance, world-class infotainment system and uncompromised safety features.”

Like the regular A-Class & B-Class, the Night Edition variants of these models will also be imported and sold in the country as CBUs. Only 100 units each are up for grabs.
