Mercedes’s AMG division has teased the automotive world with images of a camouflaged C63 Coupe, ahead of its global debut at the Frankfurt Motor Show in September.
The pictures - taken when Mercedes was testing the car at Germany’s Hockenheimring Circuit - indicate that the design of the front of the Coupe version of the C63 AMG has been borrowed straight from the sedan. At the rear, the car shares plenty of design clues with the S-Class Coupe, particularly the tail lights.
On the power unit front, the Mercedes AMG C63 Coupe is expected to carry the same 4.0-litre twin-turbo V8 engine as the sedan, and would likely be available in two power trims: the entry level 469 bhp tune, and the more powerful 503 bhp version.
Power is likely to be channeled to the rear wheels using a revised version of Mercedes AMG’s seven speed automatic SpeedShift gearbox.
Expect more details of the Mercedes-AMG C63 Coupe to follow when the launch draws closer.
