On April 11, Mercedes-Benz will introduce the AMG GT 63 S E Performance in India. According to the reports, the soon-to-released version will be the most potent production vehicle to date.
Mercedes-Benz India will launch the AMG GT 63 S E Performance in the country on April 11. The upcoming model is the top-of-the-line plug-in hybrid version of the AMG GT 4-door. Moreover, it is also AMG's most potent production vehicle to date. Appearance-wise, the AMG GT 63 S E Performance shares many exterior features with the standard model. The upcoming version will have new alloy wheels, a new exhaust system, revised bumpers, and a charging port on the rear bumper. In other news, Mercedes-Benz India will expand its electric vehicle line-up. The automaker reportedly stated that it intends to have a portfolio of eight electric cars within a year, as the demand for zero-emission vehicles in India is on the rise. The company's current offerings include EQB, EQC, EQS - 53 AMG, a CBU (Completely Built Unit), and EQS 580-Made in India. The waiting times for almost all of them are between three and six months. With its annual sales reaching 1000 units, the luxury automaker wants to expand its lineup by adding four more models over the next eight to twelve months. AMG GT 63 S E Performance: Powertrain
An electric motor with a 4.0-litre twin-turbo V8 engine will power the upcoming AMG GT 63 S E-Performance. The overall output will be 831bhp and 1,400Nm. The GT 63 S E Performance will have a top speed of 316km/h and would be able to accelerate from 0 to 100km/h in 2.9 seconds. According to the firm, a 6.1kWh, 400V battery, weighing just 89kgs, will power the electric motor. Moreover, according to the automaker, the PHEV will travel 12km on electricity alone and will have a top speed of 130km/h. Additionally, it will feature four levels of regenerative braking and could be driven with just one pedal in some circumstances.
AMG GT 63 S E Performance: Interior & Exterior
The upcoming AMG GT 63 S E Performance will have two 12.4-inch displays, serving as an infotainment system and digital instrument console. Other notable interior features include sports seats, a steering wheel, etc.
The AMG GT 63 S E Performance will come with a few improvements over the standard model, including a new front bumper based on the two-door GT. It will also have brand-new badging and exhaust outlets. Further, new alloy wheels will be only available on the PHEV variant. The charging port will be located under a flap on the back bumper. Aside from this, the standard and PHEV GT 4-door coupe variants will be the same in appearance.

Mercedes Benz: Future Plans
In 2023, the firm plans to introduce ten new models, with electric vehicles serving as one of the portfolio's highlights. According to reports, the automaker is pleased with how EV sales are currently progressing in the Indian market. Overall, it will work to increase EV sales by 25% in the next four years. Industry reports state that the company's focus is on going all-electric by 2032.
