Mercedes-AMG E 63 S Final Edition is the W213 performance series swansong

It's been less than a year since Mercedes-Benz brought the W213-gen E 53 and E 63 S AMG to our shores. And now, with the reveal of the E 63 S 4MATIC+ Final Edition, the German marque has formally announced the end of the W213 performance model series.

As the name suggests, the E 63 S Final Edition marks the end of the road for the W213 E-Class' AMG treatment.

It's been less than a year since Mercedes-Benz brought the W213-gen E 53 and E 63 S AMG to our shores. And now, with the reveal of the E 63 S 4MATIC+ Final Edition (available as both Saloon and Estate), the German marque has formally announced the end of the W213 performance model series.

The Final Edition is offered exclusively in a Matte Graphite Grey Magno colour. Complementing the car's stealth look are the aerodynamically-optimised 20-inch cross-spoke AMG forged wheels finished in a high-sheen black with gloss-tinted clearcoat. A bespoke AMG emblem on the C-pillar further adds to the Final Edition's special status.

It even gets the AMG Night Package as part of its standard kit. Thanks to this, an array of exterior trim elements, comprising the front splitter of the AMG front apron, the inserts of the AMG side sill panels, the trim element in the front wings, the beltline trim strips and window surrounds, the outside mirror housings and the trim strip of the AMG rear apron gets a high-gloss black finish. And that's not all. The Night Package also throws in heat-insulating dark-tinted glass and twin trapezoidal, black chrome tailpipe trims.

The one-off character continues inside, thanks to the AMG Performance Seat Package High-End! The AMG Performance seats not only offer full electrical adjustability but have also been wrapped in Titanium Grey Pearl / Black fine AMG Nappa leather, with yellow contrast stitching. The Nappa leather is also used on the instrument panel, beltline trim and the AMG Performance steering wheel.

Of course, being a special edition, the E 63 S 4MATIC+ Final Edition will be produced in limited numbers. Only 999 units will ever see the light of day, with each one bearing an 'AMG Final Edition' badge on the centre console with designated '1 of 999' numbering.

This is also the last E 63 AMG to be powered by a V8, as the next-generation model is most likely to adopt a smaller-capacity hybrid powertrain.
