Mercedes Benz India today launched the much awaited A-Class. Its eye candy to many youngsters and Mercedes has been able to truly tap the pulse of the young generation.
The dynamic design of the A-Class makes you want to look at it twice and especially with the 302 diamond resembling pins adorning the front grille. The bi-Xenon lamps give it that energetic look which the youngsters might dig. Then there is the aerodynamics and the Mercedes A-Class achieves a drag coefficient of 0.27, which is in plain terms - phenomenal!
Mercedes Benz has launched the A-Class in both the petrol and the diesel powertrains in India. The 1.6-litre, 4 cylinder petrol engine churns out 122bhp and zooms from a 0-100km/h in 9.2 seconds. With a top speed of 202km/h, the A 180 Sport does justice to its sporty exterior.
The 2.2-litre, 4 cylinder diesel engine churns 109bhp and does a 0-100km/h in 10.6 seconds. Top speed runs in 190km/h and Mercedes says that it is India's most fuel efficient luxury car. Why? Because this diesel compact luxury car can do 1000kms on a full tank.
The engine is mated to a 7G-Dual Clutch automatic transmission and the A-Class also features a ECO start/stop function as standard, which makes it economical.
Inside, the A-Class gets F1 inspired sporty seats. Then there is the ARTICO upholstery along with the SLS AMG inspired cockpit interiors. The infotainment system is equipped with a 14.7cm colour display, iPhone compatible USB, Aux-in, Bluetooth, audio streaming, MP3/WMA/AAC and CD cover display. Basically Mercedes has covered all bases.
Mercedes Benz is offering the A-Class at an introductory price of Rs. 22.73 lakhs for the A 180 Sport (petrol) and Rs. 21.93 for the A 180 Style (diesel) lakhs (prices ex-showroom Mumbai)
