McLaren has revealed the pictures and specifications of its 675LT which doesn’t only look great, but also oozes performance in every possible way.

McLaren has revealed the pictures and specifications of its latest ‘Longtail’ car – the 675LT, and on paper, it is beyond phenomenal. How? Figure this then: 0-100km/h in 2.9 seconds, 0-200km/h in 7.9 seconds, a top speed of 330kmph and a power to weight ratio of 542bhp per tonne.

A few days ahead of its launch at the Geneva Motor Show, McLaren decided to make people drool and succeeded beautifully. The successor to McLaren 650S is powered by a turbocharged 3.8-litre V8 engine that delivers 666bhp (or 675PS, as the name suggests) of power and 700Nm of maximum torque. The power is delivered with the help of a 7-speed SSG transmission.

The car has been designed with a clear focus on performance, weight loss and optimised aerodynamics. This will also be McLaren’s most track-focused, yet road legal, model in the entire lineup. The dry weight of the car is just 1,230kgs thanks to excessive use of carbon fibre in making this car. For example, the active ‘Longtail’ airbrake is 50% bigger than what comes in the 650S, but is actually lighter.

McLaren took the word ‘lightweight’ so seriously that they even removed the air conditioning from the car. Carbon fibre has been used extensively for developing body panels, engine, chassis and body structure parts.

The car will be offered in five colour schemes – Silica White, Delta Red, Napier Green, Chicane Grey and the famous hearitage McLaren Orange. Each colour scheme will be complemented within the stripped out interiors with materials and colours selected carefully by McLaren.

The cabin of the 675LT has been made to give the driver an idea of what this car is capable of doing on a track. The ultra lightweight carbon fibre-shelled bucket seats are made to provide comfort and support with no compromise on overall weight. Both the headrests will have a 675LT logo which is also there on the rev counter.0020

For those who will prefer having air conditioning in their 675LT, the controls will be accessible via the highly responsive touchscreen infotainment system.

The McLaren 675LT will make its global debut at the 85th Geneva Motor Show on Tuesday, March 3, 2015.
