While General Motor’s abrupt exit announcement from the Indian market might have left Chevrolet’s current owners in agony, it has brought with it some ludicrous deals which may be hard to resist for some.
The American giant GM will officially cease the sales of all Chevrolet vehicles in the country by 31 December, 2017, and the Chevrolet dealers are trying really hard to get rid of the existing inventory of cars. Here is a look at some big ticket discounts that can currently be availed on Chevrolet cars.
Trailblazer: The brawny Chevrolet Trailblazer, which is also the mechanically identical twin of the recently launched Isuzu MU-X, can be yours for as low as Rs 19.95 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi). That is around Rs. 4 lakh less than the normal price, and makes the Trailblazer even cheaper than the top end Innova Crysta.
Cruze: The once strong-selling Chevrolet Cruze, just like the Trailblazer, is available with around Rs 4 lakh off its regular price. At Rs 10.95 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi) for the top end LTZ manual trim, the masculine looking Cruze can be had at the price of a mid-spec Honda City.
Beat: The petrol engined Chevrolet Beat is being offered with a flat Rs 1 lakh off across all variants. This brings the Chevy hatchback’s starting price a shade below Rs. 3 lakh.
As per government regulations, all manufacturers are obliged to provide spares for a vehicle 10 years post its discontinuation. The fact that GM will continue to manufacture its cars in India for exports should further ensure availability of spare parts for their cars in India.
So, for those who had long set their eyes on a particular Chevrolet vehicle and are unmoved by the exit fiasco, this may be the right time to visit a Chevrolet showroom near you. While it’s still there.
