Maserati updates the Ghibli and Quattroporte with Euro 6 compliant engines and more equipment. Debuts Ermenegildo Zegna models
Maserati has made its presence felt at the 2015 Frankfurt Motor Show with the showcase of updated versions of its sedans, the Ghibli and Quattroporte.
For the 2016 model year, both these cars will be launched with Euro 6 compliant petrol engines while the V6 diesel engine incorporates AdBlue technology to reduce emissions and comply with Euro 6 norms. Power figures remain the same for all engines while the petrol engines now get idle start / stop systems.
But that’s not all as Maserati has packed in a number of new features such as Rear Cross Path, a new Harman Kardon stereo, Siri voice command for iOS devices and interior changes which we will get to in a bit. Optional equipment includes Blind Spot Alert, power boot lid closing (standard on the Quattroporte GTS) and a Bowers and Wilkins stereo with Clari-Fi function. The Rear Cross path system has sensors in the rear bumper that detect oncoming traffic towards the car at speeds between 3 km/h to about 16 km/h and alerts the driver visually and audibly.
Inside, there are new options in terms of trim and contrast stitching while the company is also introducing a new Ermenegildo Zegna, Zegna Edition interior package for both the Ghibli and Quattroporte. This gives the interiors a combination of 100 per cent leather and silk upholstery for trim while the door pad trims get contrast stitching. The Zegna Edition will be availed with a choice of three colour options, namely, black leather and anthracite Ermenegildo Zegna silk, natural colour leather with Ermenegildo Zegna silk and Red leather with Ermenegildo Zegna silk.
The Maserati stand at the ongoing motor show displays three versions of the Ghibli executive sports saloon, two versions of the Quattroporte sports luxury limousine, a GranTurismo MC Stradale Centennial Edition and a GranCabrio Sport.
