Maserati India has already sketched out its plans for 2022. The Italian carmaker will bring in the hybrid SUV first, which will soon be followed by its 620bhp sportscar, the Maserati M20.
Maserati India has confirmed that the Levante GT Hybrid SUV and the MC20 sportscar will be launched in India this year. The Maserati Levante GTHybrid will be launched sometime in Q2, and the MC20 will debut in Q3 of 2022. Interestingly, the sportscar has been listed on Maserati’s website since last June.
Speaking of the SUV first, as the brand has already commenced bookings for the same, the Maserati Levant GT Hybrid features a 2.0-litre turbo-petrol motor, which is paired to a 48-volt mild-hybrid system. The combined output of this engine is 325bhp and 450Nm, which is sent to all the wheels via an eight-speed automatic transmission.
The Levate GT hybrid can sprint to 100km/h within six seconds and has a top speed of 240km/hr. Despite these numbers being impressive, it is the Maserati Levante Trofeo that is the sportiest one of all Levantes.
The price of the Levante GT Hybrid is expected to be above the Rs 1.4 crore (ex-showroom) mark.
The MC20, on the other hand, is going to be more expensive. The sportscar will be sold via the CBU route, therefore expect a sticker price close to Rs 3 crore (ex-showroom).
Speaking of its specs, the MC20 gets the ‘Nettuno’ 3.0-litre turbo-V6 engine. This power plant packs Formula 1 engine tech and puts out 621bhp at 7,500rpm and 730Nm at 3,000rpm. The claimed 0 – 100km/h timing for the MC20 is 2.9 seconds.
