Maserati has launched the new GranTurismo, expanding its lineup of vehicles in India. The second-generation grand tourer has finally made its way to the Indian market, following its global premiere two years back. The Maserati GranTurismo is globally available in three variants: Modena, Trofeo, and Folgore. The first two are ICE models, while the third is an electric variant. For our market, the base-spec Moderna variant boasts a price tag of Rs 2.72 crore, while the Trofeo variant is priced at Rs 2.90 crore. Both mentioned prices are ex-showroom figures. The petrol-powered GranTurismo is the first to go on sale here, with the battery-powered electric vehicle bearing the Folgore suffix, set to come next year.

Maserati GranTurismo: Design Updates
The low-slung look and flowing lines of the previous-gen Maserati GranTurismo are carried over into the latest iteration, which keeps an evolutionary design. A Maserati Trident logo adorns the front end, while the bumper has splitters and large vents. Vents behind the grille are one of the new improvements, directing excess air across the car's body. Furthermore, the side profile retains the distinctive triple vent design, found on Maserati cars.
With the addition of sleeker triangular taillamps, the rear design has also evolved from the previous model. Although the all-electric Folgore variant has the same overall appearance, it can be identified as an electric vehicle thanks to updated bumpers and Folgore fender badging.
Maserati GranTurismo: Interior Details
The GranTurismo's interior underwent a significant overhaul, with several physical buttons replaced by touch-based controls and digital panels. An adjustable digital screen can now be found in place of the standard analogue watch on the dashboard. The cabin also features a digital instrument display and a big central touchscreen. There is an additional 8.8-inch touchscreen below the primary 12.3-inch screen that handles the air conditioning and seat adjustments.
Maserati GranTurismo: Powertrain Options
Coming to the mechanicals, the new 3.0-litre Nettuno V6 engine, which comes in two configurations, powers the petrol GranTurismo. With a top speed of 302km/h and outputs of 483bhp and 600Nm, the base-spec "Modena" model can go from 0 to 100km/h in 3.9 seconds. On the other hand, the performance-oriented "Trofeo" model belts out 550bhp of maximum power and 650Nm of peak torque. It accelerates from 0 to 100km/h in 3.5 seconds and reaches a peak speed of 320km/h.
A tri-motor all-wheel-drive system with an overall output of 751bhp and 1,350Nm propells the all-electric GranTurismo Folgore. The top speed of the model stands at 325km/h, and it can accelerate from 0 to 100km/h in 2.7 seconds. On top of that, the EV houses a 92.5kWh battery, providing a range of up to 450 km on a full charge.

Maserati GranTurismo: Competition Check
In India, the Maserati GranTurismo ICE variants will take on the likes of the Bentley Continental GT, Ferrari Roma, Aston Martin Vantage, and Porsche 911. Meanwhile, upon launch next year, the electric version will face off against the Audi RS e-tron GT and Porsche Taycan.
