Special editions or one-of-a-kind models are frequently released by manufacturers worldwide to commemorate important events and anniversaries. The latest to arrive is Maserati's celebratory Fuoriserie GranCabrio Folgore. The limited-edition model commemorates Tignanello, one of the most notable red wines of recent years, as well as Maserati's special Fuoriserie programme and the company's long-standing partnership with the Marchesi Antinori vineyard. Marchesi Antinori is a distinctive Italian icon with a family wine tradition lasting over 600 years and passed down through 26 generations. On July 14, during Festival Napa Valley's Arts for All Gala, a renowned US arts charity event, the one-off vehicle will be put up for auction.

Klaus Busse, Maserati Head of Design: 'This collaboration with Marchesi Antinori gives us the opportunity to epitomise the essence of Bespoke production, the flagship of our Maserati Fuoriserie customisation programme. It is designed to create ad-hoc experiences for Trident customers, by producing tailor-made cars that can make the driving experience even more sublime and distinctive, the way only an outstanding wine can at the table. Telling a story of Italian excellence is a source of pride for us and serves as constant stimulus for our work, which with Bespoke production aspires to create something absolutely dedicated and inimitable.'
Maserati GranCabrio Folgore Tignanello: Exterior
To commemorate Maserati's 110th anniversary and as a nod to its legacy, the car is completed in Terra d Tignanello, which is essentially a chestnut shade. The soil of the vineyard served as inspiration for the colour, according to the Modena-based company, which describes it as "reminiscent of the central red shades of Tignanello's characteristic barrels." The brake callipers, which are visible through the car's matte black rims, have been coated in black to match the metallic hue. In addition to these, the shiny copper colour of the insignia draws attention from onlookers.
Maserati GranCabrio Folgore Tignanello: Technical Details
The all-electric drivetrain of the model remains the same. A silicon carbide inverter is included with each of the three radial-flux permanent magnet motors. One is in front, while the other two are towards the back. You can get up to 804bhp in "MaxBoost" mode, according to Maserati; in standard mode, you can get roughly 750bhp. The manufacturer states that the new EV has a 92.5kWh battery pack, only 83kWh of which is usable. It boasts a driving range of 448 km (WLTP cycle).
Maserati GranCabrio Folgore Tignanello: Interior Layout
The car's interior, according to the company, combines the "most romantic details". Specifically, the interior of Tignanello blends burgundy and silver ribbed weave with brown leather. Vegea, a leather substitute sourced within the vineyard, is used to create this weave design. Meanwhile, "1971-2021" is etched on the centre console plaque. It symbolises both the initial and present Tignanello vintages. Additionally, there are oak barrels from the vineyard laser-etched into the black briar wood within. The Maserati Trident is paired with Tignanello's signature element, the sun, in exquisite embroidery adorning the seat headrests.
