Maruti Suzuki will launch its premium dealership network Nexa on July 23rd, it has been announced.
The Japanese car maker has adopted a different sales strategy under which it will separate its premium cars from the rest using a new dealership network, christened as Nexa. Maruti is replicating the model used by banks around the world, which have a separate section for ‘privileged’ members. In this case, however, the Nexa dealerships, would be located independently of Maruti's regular showrooms.
The first car to be sold through the Nexa network will be Maruti’s upcoming crossover, the S-Cross. With its new offering, Maruti aims to beat market leader Duster as well Hyundai’s soon-to-be-launched compact SUV, Creta.
Maruti Ciaz - which recently overtook Hyundai Verna to become the second highest selling sedan in India - will soon be sold exclusively through Nexa, with more premium cars set to join the fray as and when they are launched.
Maruti aims to open 100 Nexa showrooms across 30 cities by the end of the current financial year.
