For a long time, it was rumoured that Maruti Suzuki is to bring a Toyota Innova Hycross dedicated MPV to India. Recently, the leading carmaker confirmed the rumour and announced the launch of a brand-new high-end MPV, based on the Toyota Innova Hycross, in India. The Innova Hycross-based new Maruti Suzuki MPV will be launched in our market in the next two months. According to industry reports, although the brand-new MPV will share most of its characteristics with the Innova Hycross, it is likely to have a unique appearance. After the launch, the high-end MPV will sit above the Ertiga, another MPV in the carmaker's portfolio. For the uninitiated, Toyota and Maruti partnered in 2017 and have been working together since then. Right now, there is no official confirmation. Still, industry reports claim that the upcoming MPV will be produced at Toyota's Bidai plant and afterwards supplied to Maruti Suzuki, just like the Grand Vitara. Maruti Suzuki Premium MPV: Engine
The premium MPV by Maruti Suzuki will reportedly use the TNGA platform of Toyota. Mechanically, it could feature similar powertrain choices as its Japanese twin. But several industry reports claim that the new Maruti Suzuki MPV will only get a hybrid powertrain. On the other hand, the Toyota Innova Hycross is available with petrol and hybrid engine options in our market. There is no official word on the powertrain of the new MPV yet, but more details will likely emerge as we near the launch date.
Maruti Suzuki Premium MPV: Design
In terms of design, a few changes are expected in terms of exterior and interior styling, considering the previous models developed under the collaboration of Maruti Suzuki and Toyota. According to reports, modifications are expected in the grille, headlamps, and front bumper design. Inside, the MPV will reportedly differ from its Japanese sibling in terms of paint scheme and upholstery.

Maruti Suzuki Premium MPV: Features, Availability & Rivals
The upcoming MPV could have dual-zone climate control, powered Ottoman seats for the second row, a panoramic sunroof, a powered tailgate, a 10.1-inch touchscreen infotainment system, automatic climate control, all LED lighting, six airbags, TPMS, and more. As mentioned, the upcoming model will be launched in our market by July of this year. After the launch, it is expected to face competition from the D2-segment SUVs and MPVs such as the Kia Carnival, MG Gloster, and Toyota Innova Hycross.
