The forthcoming Vitara Brezza compact-SUV has been teased yet again.
Maruti Suzuki’s first-ever compact SUV for the country – the Vitara Brezza – will be unveiled at the 2016 Delhi Auto expo in February. A couple of days earlier, Maruti Suzuki released a teaser sketch of the forthcoming model, giving us a brief look at the chiseled dimensions of the compact-SUV. Now, the company has teased the front fascia of the car on its official website.
The latest teaser reveals the car to have projector headlamps (first-in-segment) with LED running lights and a chunky single-piece grille accentuated by a huge Suzuki logo and XA-Alfa-like louvres. Maruti believes the Vitara Brezza’s balanced and muscular proportions - square wheel arches, upright hood, short overhangs, high ground clearance etc. - will appeal to urban customers. Inside, you can expect the cabin’s design and layout to be similar to that seen in newer Maruti Suzuki cars such as the Baleno and S-Cross. Features like Apple CarPlay among others are likely to be offered in the Vitara Brezza.
The Vitara Brezza is going to be a sub-4m SUV. Powertrain options are likely to include the company’s tried and tested range of petrol and diesel engines – 1.2-litre petrol, 1.4-litre petrol and 1.3-litre diesel. All the engines will come paired with a 5-speed manual transmission, while AMT-equipped versions might also be introduced.
Maruti is expected to put the Vitara Brezza on sale across the country from March, 2016. The compact-SUV will reportedly be sold through regular dealerships, and not in Nexa premium outlets. Competition of the Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza will include the likes of the Ford EcoSport and Mahindra TUV3OO.
