This Special Edition model adds features to the base L trim of the car
Looking to make the most out of the upcoming festive season, Maruti Suzuki has introduced a new Special Edition variant of the Swift. Priced at Rs 4.99 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi), this Limited Edition model is based on the LXi and LDi variants of the Swift. The Manesar-based carmaker has added considerable features to what is otherwise a bare-basic trim.
Maruti Suzuki has fitted this base trim with a single-DIN music system that comes with Bluetooth connectivity and two speakers. In addition, the car will also come fitted with black painted wheel caps. Other features part of the package includes, front power windows, rear parking sensors, ABS and airbags.
The Swift was launched at the Auto Expo 2018 in February. Mechanically, this Special Edition model remains unchanged. It continues to get a 1.2-litre petrol motor churning out 82bhp and a 1.3-litre diesel producing 74bhp. Both engines come paired with a 5-speed manual. Although an AMT option is available in the mid and top-spec trims, this Special Edition only comes with a manual.
Since the first-generation Swift was introduced, it has been among the highest-selling models in the country. This new-generation offering continues with that trend with sales of over 15,000 units every month.
