Maruti Suzuki's fourth-generation Swift – launched with a petrol engine in May 2024 – has added a CNG option to its powertrain lineup. The recently launched Maruti Suzuki Swift CNG gets a Z-series 1.2-litre 3-cylinder petrol engine with a factory-fitted CNG kit. The CNG kit includes a large single-cylinder setup, unlike the Hyundai Grand i10 Nios CNG. The latter gets twin-cylinder CNG technology, which includes two smaller CNG cylinders with a total capacity of 60 litres. This results in increased boot space over the traditional CNG cars.
The Maruti Suzuki Swift CNG comes in three variants – VXi, VXi (O), and ZXi – and is priced from Rs 8.20 lakh to Rs 9.20 lakh. Meanwhile, the Grand i10 Nios CNG ranges from Rs 7.68 lakh for the Magna variant to Rs 8.23 lakh for the Sportz variant, making it more affordable than the relatively new Swift CNG. All prices are ex-showroom. Apart from their pricing, the Swift CNG and the Grand i10 Nios CNG differ in terms of engine output and dimensions. Let's see how:
