The S-Cross crossover makes a comeback in BS6 specification. Its prices range between Rs 8.39 lakh and Rs 12.39 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi). It's available with a choice of four manual transmission variants and three automatic gearbox variants.
The BS6 version of the Maruti Suzuki S-Cross has officially been launched with Suzuki’s 1.5-litre petrol engine. This is the first time that the S-Cross is available with a petrol engine and with the choice of an automatic gearbox. To meet the new BS6 emissions regulations, Maruti Suzuki has done away with the earlier 1.3-litre diesel engine that was standard across the S-Cross model range in the earlier facelift model.
The new BS6 Maruti Suzuki S-Cross’ 1.5-litre petrol engine is being offered with a five-speed manual transmission and a four-speed automatic gearbox. The powertrain is fitted with a mild-hybrid system with automatic engine start/stop to reduce emissions and increase fuel efficiency. The new S-Cross petrol has a claimed fuel efficiency figure of 18.55km/l for the manual model, while the automatic is rated at 18.43km/l.
The Maruti Suzuki S-Cross petrol’s K-series 1.5-litre four-cylinder naturally aspirated engine develops 103bhp of max power @ 6,000rpm and 138Nm of peak torque @ 4,400rpm.
The updated Maruti S-Cross features no styling changes over the 2017 face-lift model. Apart from the engine, the only other new element is Suzuki’s second-generation infotainment system, which is referred to as the Smartplay Studio system – it has a 7-inch interface. This new system has customisable icons and voice commands that can be accessed via Apple CarPlay or Android Auto.
The new S-Cross petrol has been launched with a choice of seven variants – there are four manual gearbox variants. The automatic transmission model is on sale in three variants. The equipment list and features for the 2020 S-Cross remain the same as for the earlier 2017 model.
