The Maruti Suzuki Jimny 5-Door has been one of the most anticipated models in India. It has garnered a good amount of attention for several actors, including the increased pre-order amount, high number of customer bookings, and more since its debut at the most recent Auto Expo. Before its price announcement in India, the model is again in the spotlight. According to the reports, it has crossed the mark of 16,500 bookings. On January 12, the SUV was unveiled, and that same day, bookings opened. The Jimny, according to industry reports, is consistently receiving over 700 bookings on average per day, and interest in this off-road lifestyle vehicle does not appear to be waning. As the demand for the SUV continues to rise regardless of the increased booking amount at Rs 25,000, the automaker may enhance the new Jimny's manufacturing capacity to retain the waiting period between 3 and 9 months.
The new Jimny, as already revealed earlier, has a boxy appearance. It has the company's exclusive AllGrip Pro system, which incorporates 2H, 4H, and 4L low-range transfer gear. The upcoming SUV is said to be specifically designed for off-road use. Mechanically, the SUV will come with a 1.5-litre petrol engine that produces 103bhp and 134Nm. It is mated to either a four-speed automatic or a five-speed manual transmission.

Several industry reports claim that the prices of the highly-awaited Jimny will be revealed shortly. The cost of the new Jimny is anticipated to start from Rs. 10 lakh and more (ex-showroom). Due to its five-door design, the SUV will presumably serve as a better alternative to off-road vehicles like the Mahindra Thar and the Force Gurkha. As of now, there is no confirmation, but rumours are going on that the Jimny 5-door will go on sale in May of 2023.
