After months of anticipation, Maruti Suzuki launched the Toyota Innova Hycross-based MPV, the Invicto, on July 5 in India. While interacting with the media on the sidelines of the launch, the carmaker hinted at the popularity of the MPV in our market with over 6,000 reservations so far. The all-new Invicto retails in our market at prices ranging between Rs 24.79 lakh and Rs 28.42 lakh, (both prices, ex-showroom), and bookings for the same are underway at Rs 25,000. It comes in two trim levels: Zeta+ and Alpha+, with the former offering two different seating arrangements. According to market reports, Maruti Suzuki aims to surpass its present share of 50% with the XL6 and Vitara models in the MPV sector. Keeping in mind the same, it has launched the brand-new Invicto to enhance its footprint in this segment. Maruti Suzuki Invicto: Bookings Update
The automaker during the media engagement at the launch revealed that the product's reach was expanding even before its launch. It cited receiving over 6,000 pre-orders for the MPV even before the price reveal. The automaker asserted that the remarkable number of reservations is beyond Maruti Suzuki's expectations, demonstrating the market's favourable response to the new MPV. For those unaware, the carmaker started accepting reservations for the model on June 19.
Maruti Suzuki Invicto: Engine & Variants
The 2.0-litre four-cylinder engine in the Invicto is coupled to an electric motor as part of a potent hybrid powertrain. The former can generate 172bhp of maximum power and 188Nm of peak torque, while the latter has an output of 11bhp. The total power delivered is 183bhp. For transmission, only an e-CVT gearbox is available. Fuel efficiency for the hybrid system is rated at 23.24 km/l. The Invicto is available in two variants: Zeta+ (7-seater) and Aplha+ (7-seater). The entry-level Zeta+ can also be had in an 8-seater configuration, by paying Rs 5,000 more than the seven-seater version. Here is the price list of the MPV.
