As we already know, the launch of Maruti Suzuki’s Ignis is around the corner on the 13th of January with bookings open from Rs. 11,000. By now you would have already come across a generous dose of content about the car. But here comes some fresh information in the form of variant names and features. As you may be aware the Ignis will be retailed through the brand’s Nexa premium outlet. This means it will not get the L, V and Z variant nomenclature. Instead it will be availed in Sigma, Delta, Zeta and Alpha variants like the S-Cross and Baleno which are also sold out of Nexa showrooms exclusively.

Here is a brief idea about what you can expect from the different variants of the Maruti Suzuki Ignis:

Maruti Suzuki Ignis Sigma: The Sigma variant of the Maruti Suzuki Ignis will be its base variant that will be offered with an engine immobilizer, power steering, air-conditioning and heating like Lxi and Ldi variants from Maruti Suzuki. But since this is a new age Maruti and sold as a premium product it will come with more standard equipment such as front power windows, tilt adjustable steering, speed sensing auto door locks and a front 12V power socket. There will however be no tachometer.

In addition Maruti Suzuki is making dual front airbags, anti-lock brakes with electronic brake force distribution and ISOFIX child seat anchors standard safety equipment on all of its new models. And since front airbags are standard there will also be a driver seat-belt reminder.

Otherwise, the Maruti Suzuki Ignis Sigma will come with body coloured door handles, steel rims, headlamp and key in ignition reminder buzzers, lane change indicator, child locks for the rear doors, etc.

The Maruti Suzuki Ignis diesel will not be available in the base Sigma variant as it will only be available in the petrol manual model.
