Maruti Suzuki, the country's largest automaker, has begun exporting its first mid-size hybrid SUV, the Grand Vitara, and the first shipment is headed to Latin America. The model will be exported to more than sixty countries in Latin America, Africa, the Middle East, ASEAN, and neighbouring regions by the country's leading carmaker and exporter. Maruti Suzuki is one of India's largest auto exporters, and in the fiscal year 2022, the company exported over 2.6 lakh vehicles – the most it has ever exported in a calendar year. According to Maruti Suzuki India Managing Director and CEO Hisashi Takeuchi, the Grand Vitara, which was launched in 2022 and is sold through NEXA dealerships, has received a positive response in the domestic market. The automaker is confident that the Grand Vitara, which is made in India, will also be successful in foreign markets.
The Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara SUV, the manufacturer's one of the most popular offerings, was developed in partnership with Toyota, which also sells the Urban Cruiser Hyryder. With a mileage of more than 28km/l on a single litre of gasoline, the car offers the segment's first powerful hybrid engine option.

The Grand Vitara, unveiled in July 2022, has received an overwhelming response in the domestic market, and we are confident that the India-manufactured Grand Vitara will meet with similar success in overseas markets as well.’
