Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara 7-seater SUV Spotted Testing Ahead of India Launch
While Maruti Suzuki hasn't confirmed anything, market reports suggest that the 7-seater Grand Vitara could launch in the fourth quarter of this year or early 2026.

A camouflaged test mule of the 7-seater Grand Vitara has been spotted on the streets of Bengaluru, India. From the looks of it, the three-row version appears to have styling inspired by the e Vitara, which has yet to be launched in India. The most recent spy shots reveal a major update for the SUV, with a revamped front featuring a new grille, bumper, and headlamp configuration. The extended profile and updated alloy wheels are also key highlights. Although the rear isn't visible, it's expected that the SUV will feature significant updates, including a revised bumper, LED taillights, and an extended rear overhang to make room for the third-row seats. The interior is not seen in the spy images, but market reports suggest that the three-row Grand Vitara will have an all-new dashboard design, along with a large freestanding touchscreen infotainment system. Other expected features include a 360-degree camera, rear AC vents, a panoramic sunroof, ventilated front seats, and automatic climate control.

Although not officially confirmed, there’s a chance that the SUV will also come with ADAS (Advanced Driver Assistance Systems).
Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara 7-seater: Powertrain
Mechanically, the three-row Grand Vitara is expected to stay identical to its 5-seater counterpart, with a 1.5-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine and the 1.5-litre hybrid powertrain options. Transmission choices are also likely to remain the same.
Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara 7-seater: Expected India Launch Timeline
Although Maruti Suzuki has yet to make an official statement, rumours are rife that the 7-seater Grand Vitara could go on sale in the fourth quarter of this year or early in 2026. The pricing is expected to be higher than that of the five-seater Grand Vitara, which starts at Rs 10.99 lakh for the entry-level (Sigma) version and goes up to Rs 20.99 lakh for the higher-spec strong hybrid automatic (Alpha plus) variant. The CNG variants are priced starting at Rs 13.15 lakh. These are ex-showroom prices.

Competition-wise, the SUV will lock horns with the MG Hector Plus, the Hyundai Alcazar, the Tata Safari, and the Kia Carens.
